There is no demanding of things, no “name it and claim it”, no repetition of phrases, no special words, no ritual, no self seeking, none of that silliness. This is the simple prayer of a humble servant, of a child to their loving father.

Lead me, feed me, forgive me, let me do your work instead of mine, help me fulfill your dreams instead of mine, show me your path, equip me lightly with only what is necessary. I trust you.

Simplicity! An understanding that this world is not our home, we are here in a mission, not a vacation. Enjoyment, prosperity, luxury is not our lot. Service, simplicity, humility. Those are the marks of a true man of God. A simple prayer that assumes God is listening, cares, and will follow through on his promises. God doesn’t act because we do the right thing, because we control Him, because we chant the right words, NO. God acts out of His sovereign wisdom, His love.

Life becomes pleasant when we learn to trust our Father, talk to Him, honor Him. Peace comes from knowing His love and ability. You don’t have to learn how to pray, just talk to your Father. There is no special ceremonies or words, there is only a relationship between you and your creator.

Simplicity, try it. Relax and enjoy His company. Trust that He truly does know what you need… You don’t have to convince Him or plead with Him.
